Appointing Judges in Ontario:The Experience of One Attorney-General - by Michael Bryant - An Excerpt

On or about September 27, 2010, then Attorney-General for Ontario, Michael J. Bryant submitted a paper to the Commission sur le precessus de nomination des juges du Quebec. He noted in the paper that the view expressed in it are the personal views of the author.

The following is a quote which caught my eye:

"The most important consultations, however, were with the Deputy Attorney-General and the Chief Justice of the Ontario Court of Justice.  For almost the entirety of my four years as A-G, this meant consulting with Murray Segal and the Honourable Brian Lennox, respectively. More often than not, we were ad idem without the need for much discussion." (at p.5)
